Z čeho se skládá zub
Za hlavní faktory bránící vzniku zubního kazu jsou v současné době považovány dostatečný příjem fluoridů a dobrá ústní hygiena. Dále je uvedeno několik doporučení přispívajících k zachování zdravých zubů bez kazů:
- Včasné ošetřování zubů - s čištěním zubů kartáčkem začít ihned při růstu prvních zubů. Děti by si neměly zvyknout pít před spaním mléko, džus nebo slazený nápoj. Cukry pak ulpívají na zubech po dlouhou dobu, což může být příčinou vzniku tzv. "zubního kazu dětské lahve".
-Dvakrát denně čistit zuby fluorizovanou pastou a alespoň jednou denně vyčistit mezizubní prostory zubní nití nebo párátkem. Po večerním čistění zubů již nic nejíst, neboť ve spánku se snižuje vylučování slin.
- Zubům prospívá žvýkací guma bez cukru, neboť zvyšuje sekreci slin a odstraňuje zbytky potravin z úst.
- Mezi jednotlivými jídly je vhodné ponechat určitou dobu, aby sliny mohly zneutralizovat vzniklé kyseliny. Není dobré neustále něco uždibovat a usrkávat.
- Stravovací rady by měly být založeny na moderních dietních doporučeních pro zajištění dobrého zdravotního stavu lidí.
